Loss
A Poem On Miscarriage
The loss of you squeezes me tight
Biting up through my veins this pain
Pours out of my odour this pain knows
The bounds of my body and the rhythm
Of my womb. You, my little one, you leave
Again. I flush away all hope. Again. I cry
For those dreams I had spoken out loud
The wishes I had dared to believe true
No. There is no you. No future, not yet
Only loss. And so much blood.
